Notice is hereby issued that the 20th Annual General Body Meeting of the Association will be held on Sunday,5th December,2005 in the school premises at 5-30 PM.
AGENDA
1. To receive, consider and confirm the proceedings of the 19th AGM held on Sunday,19th December,2004.
2. To receive, consider and adopt the Annual Report of the year 2004-2005 (ending 31st March, 2005) of the working of the Society (Secretary's Report).
3. To receive, consider and adopt the Audited Accounts of the year 2004-2005.
4. To appoint an Auditor for the year 2005-2006.
5. Holding of elections for vacancies in the Governing Body.
6. Any other business with the permission of the chair.

NOTICEFOR THE ELECTION
Election of Governing Body Members to vacancies will be held on 4th December 2005 at 6 PM.Nomination papers and other details will be available from the Association office on Sunday 13th and 20th November 2005(10.30 am to 2.30 pm) and Thursday 17th and 24th November 2005(6.30 pm to 8 pm). The last date for filing of nominations is 27th November 2005 by 12.30 p.m. and that of withdrawal is 1st December,2005 (by 8 p.m.)

Minutes of the 19th AGM of SLOBA held on 19th December 2004 in the School Premises

President, Fr.B.Thomas, called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the 18th AGM were confirmed and unanimously adopted. Proposed by Mr.Pinaki Dasgupta and seconded by Mr. A.K.Pandey.

The Secretary submitted the annual report for the year 2003-2004 highlighting major events. The report was unanimously adopted. Proposed by Mr.Anirban Banerjee and seconded by Mr.. Pinaki Dasgupta.

The audited accounts for the year 2003-2004 were adopted by the house. Proposed by Mr.Anirban Banerjee and seconded by Mr. Debashis Nandy.

M/S S.Rudra & Co. were appointed auditors for the year 2004-2005 and the resolution to pay an annual fee of RS. 1,251/- was unanimously adopted. Proposed by Mr.Probir Gupta and seconded by Mr. Pinaki Dasgupta.

Mr.Sreemoy Banerjee enquired why the AGM was shifted from first to third Sunday this time.Dr.Subrata Das,Vice-President,explained that this had happened because some key members of SLOBA were out of station on first Sunday of December,2004 due to some unavoidable circumstances.Mr.Banerjee further pointed out this change of date may have accounted for the poor attendance in the AGM and such change of date should be avoided in future.Fr.B.Thomas,President,remarked that the point has been well taken.

Dr.Soumitra Kumar mentioned about two important forthcoming activities of SLOBA.First,the Annual SLOBA picnic and second,the fund-raising programme in aid of SLOBA Free Clinic to be held at Nazrul Mancha on 30th January,2005.Dr.Kumar solicited a large participation of the ex-students in both the programmes.

ANNUAL REPORT OF ST. LAWRENCE OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION (2004-2005) AS ON 31ST MARCH 2005
I am extremely grateful to all the members of the association, and the school authority for their help and support extended in all our activities. The events those took place during the captioned period are as follows:
MEMBERSHIP
The present strength of Life Members as on 31.03.2005 : 910
FREE CLINIC
The free clinic has completed its eighteenth year and is running smoothly. We express our gratitude to Dr.P.G.Roy,Dr.(Mrs.) Shukla Lahiri and Mr.Bibhas Kanti Nandi and Mr.Bakshish Singh Anand who have kept the clinic running very efficiently despite several adversities.The clinic has been treating 125-150 patients every Sunday with free advice and medicines.
SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT
The SLOBA Cricket Camp continues to function efficiently under the guidance of eminent coach Shri Subrata Dutta and supervision of our member Shri Kalyan Dhall.
A scholarship pf Rs.6600/- per annum(courtesy,our member Mr.Anand Singh) is being extended to two needy and meritorious students of the school.
A new table tennis board has been purchased and donated to the school.
SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
A fund-raising programme for the “Free Clinic” was organized at Nazrul Mancha,Kolkata on 30th January 2005 featuring Sri Pratik Chowdhury in the first half and noted Bangla band “Bhoomi” in the second half.The programme was sponsored by Bengal Peerless Housing Finance Development Co.Ltd.The programme attended by a crowd of more than 2000 people,which included Jesuit fathers,teachers,ex-students and present students of the school and their families.The programme was enjoyed by all sections of the crowd,Fund raised from the programme is being utilized in efficient running of the clinic.
Annual Reunion & Elections
The AGM cum Reunion was held on 19th December,2004.The attendance was poor to start with,but picked up later in the evening.The dinner and the cultural programme was appreciated by all.

AUDITOR'S REPORT
1.0 We have audited the attached Balance Sheet of St. Lawrence Old Boys' Association as at 31st March 2005 and annexed Income and Expenditure Account and Receipts and Payments Account of the Association for the year ending on that date.These financial statements are the responsibility of the Association management.Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit.
2.0 We have conducted our audit in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in India.Those standards require that we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement.An audit included examining on a test basis,evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements.An audit also includes assessing the according principles used and significant estimates made by the management,as well as evaluating the overall financial statements presentation.We believe that our audit provides a reasonable basis for aour opinion.
3.0 a. Accounts has been maintained on Cash basis.
b. Depreciation has been charged on written down value method of Income Tax Act 1961.
4.0 Subject to para 3 we report that:
4.1 The accounts dealt with by this report are in agreement with the books of accounts.
4.2 We have obtained all the information and explanations,which to the best of our knowledge and belief were necessary for the purpose of our audit.
4.3 In our opinion and to the best of our information and according to the explanations given to us the said Accounts give a true and fair view and in conformity with the accounting principles generally accepted in India.
i) In case of Balance Sheet,of the state of affairs of the Association as at 31st March,2005
ii) In case of the Income and Expenditure Account,of the excess of Income over Expenditure and
iii) In case of Receipts & Payments Accounts of the total receipts and Payments for the year ending on that date.
